Implosion

We are relying on more and more for people to help us.

It's taken over 3 months to get the release locations of 2 of our boys.

Winnie was collected from Falcon hospital and discarded 10 mins down the road. In the middle of nowhere.

Monty was collected once trapped, and taken directly to a dumping ground.

In both incidents, the chances of turning left or right will result in them being dead or alive. They are in remote places with large cat colonies close'ish by. If they made it to any of the colonies, we should be able to find them.

There are so many people, at their own expense tirelessly trying to clear up the mess from dumped and abandoned cats.

It's endless, soul destroying and utterly sickening. There are just too many cats, not only on the streets, but in remote locations where they are sent to die in a slow and painful way.

On our doorstep. No microchip.

Ive spoken with several current and ex cat colony carers.

They are mentally, emotionally, financially and physically traumatised by the lack of any animal welfare support. The problem is immense. There is no enforcement of any abandonment laws.

I was told recently that someone was 'asking ' around for the best place to dump their cat!!! What an oxymoron. BEST place to DUMP a cat!!! I just can not understand how someone must not have a conscience to  act like that. What's the thought process? How do you stop it? How to you make it become so unacceptable it is no longer an option?

We are seeing more and more dumped cats. Colonies are growing. Financial debt is accumulating. We need a solution now. Not next year or the year after. NOW

Pest control company's must have the handling of cats and dogs removed from their remit. Clearly, their unscrupulous indiscriminate abandonment of animals is having a massive effect, destabilising once manageable colonies. The colony carers tnr the cats, more are dumped... they do not have a bottomless pit of resources to manage the problem of a country they are a temporary resident in. However, I have met many caring nationals doing their best to help. They don't want to see their country tarred with the inhumane brush of  an inability to manage animal welfare.

This country has an opportunity, NOW, to step-up. Look at what is going on. Acknowledge the problem. Engage industry professionals, make a plan. Enforce it ethically and transparently.

The world is looking in at this fledgling country.  Achieving phenomenal things. Space travel, unparalleled ethnic diversity, amazing architectural feats.

Failing abysmally at animal welfare.

This problem is on a precipice of implosion. When it blows, it will be big and will reverberate around the globe.

Save this country. Save animal welfare.

All of my opinion, is based on first hand experience garnered over a traumatic 3 month torturous journey inflicted not by choice, upon us.

My 3 boys, removed for putting dust on a car.

I will never give up searching for them, and holding those accountable for what our family has suffered. Our family - dave, me and our cats, Blacky, Monty and Winnie. Remember those names.
