To all my boys

The boys are in the news again. Only Blacky and Winnie left to bring home now. We are 1 third of the way there 💪
We are so grateful to Nick Webster. I did hound him for help in the beginning, fortunately it paid off and now he has published the follow up for Monty. Just amazing.

Our lives all changed abruptly 110 days ago. I used to "potter". I like to paint on canvas. I like to be lazy, bake cakes, google fancy dinners to prepare, play with the boys, sit with them for cuddles. We had a burger king takeaway as we hadn't made time to eat last Saturday.

The search party at al shamkah for Winnie was a great sucess. Albeit, we did not find Winnie, however bringing people together for the boys cause was phenomenal. People walking the streets searching. Little batches of food for the strays being sighted. A painfully beautiful experience under the circumstances.

I am not as emotional as I was when this all started. I've changed, grown, become more capable and organised.

I can't believe how deftly I deal with administering meds to the rescue cats. Pills here, creams there, drops and food supplements. Litter trays 🤢  All in my stride. Only 1 month ago I stood in the kitchen and cried. Well actually more of a wailing sob. I gave myself a mental kick up the ass and changed gear. No more of my squeamish emotional dramas

This was to be the new me.

In-between all that a wife, a chef etc etc. Plus trying to maintain our personal friendships.

Fortunately, Dave and I work well together managing our 'new' life.

I know that if I was working we couldn't have achieved so much, so thanks to Dave we are in a position where I have the time to keep our boys story current, reminding those that did wrong daily.

In all of our 30+ years together, we have never had to be so united. I am grateful to Dave for being Dave. He is kind, compassionate and supportive, and 100% behind our boys campaign to bring them home and work towards change.

To be fair, he is worse than me for picking up 'one more' cat in need. Our four are now 8, 2 pending and 1 kitten recovering from a rescue mission - the new kitten will be named Eleven when he is well enough to join us.

Monty is doing great too! We think he is 80% back to himself. Still abit twitchy and nervous, but definately recovering well. He slept for nearly 3 days. Only waking to eat. Bless him. Our hero. He has a trackr now. It's sad as he didn't runaway, get lost or lose his way. He was physically trapped and dumped away from his surroundings. He survived. We are hoping Winnie and Blacky will be found in similar circumstances.
Our Monty ❤️

The rest of the gang are doing ok too. They are all getting along which is wonderful. I do wonder if they manage to exchange story's between them. How they stumbled into our lives,  or were plucked from desperate situations. Either way, they all seem happy. So are we.

Zayed. Gifted to us after being found and rescued from Zayed 1st Street

All waiting to meet Winnie and Blacky.

Finding Monty has given us and all the people with us, a new lease of hope.

Here's to not giving up. We're coming for you boys!
